ROYAL ACADEMY OF DANCE (RAD) BALLET EXAMS

Students from Grade 1 Ballet and upwards are able to enrol in an exam lesson if they wish to extend their dance training further. Students wishing to sit their exams must attend 2 ballet classes per week; i.e. Grade 1 ballet on Tuesday + Grade 1 exam class on Wednesday if they wish to sit the grade 1 exam.

Students will only be entered into the examination if the teacher is confident that the student is at a satisfactory level. Students that wish to take their exams must make attendance to class a priority, anything lower than an 80% attendance rate will compromise entry for the exam.

Graded Ballet exams (for Grades 1-5) are held at our Bunbury studio, generally late September and students will need to attend roughly 4-5 extra practices leading up to their exam.

Vocational level examinations (for Intermediate Foundation and upwards) are held at the beginning of term 3 in Perth. Students wishing to sit vocational level exams will be required to complete a holiday course, which is held in Perth in the 1st term school holidays.

Students wishing to sit their exams must take a conditioning lesson each week to help maintain their fitness and flexibility (grade 2 & upwards, not avail for grade 1 students).

EXAMINATIONS OFFERED FROM GRADE 1 BALLET – ADVANCED 2 BALLET.
